On December 1st I'm running a 100km (62 mile) ultramarathon in Prince William Forest Park that involves 6,000ft (1,800m) of elevation gain (2.5x the Burj Khalifa). And I've decided to do it in support of Rosie Riveters, an incredible non-profit that provides a fun space for girls ages 4-14 to imagine, create and play while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Your donation will help Rosie Riveters deliver their 2018 programming across Northern Virginia. Why's that important? Because women are woefully underrepresented in STEM fields and that trend needs to change. For example, only 13% of engineers are women. That's right, only one in ten. Too often girls are turned away from STEM long before they're making college decisions. And that's where Rosie Riveters comes in with their mission to equip and empower girls to be strong, confident, and competent in the fields of STEM through hands on projects and mentorship programs. Help Rosie Riveters make a dent in the universe. Please give as much as you can today!
