The 1,000 Dreams Fund (1DF) is a non-profit whose purpose is to support the dreams of talented young American women in need with micro-grants.
We support dreams of all shapes and sizes! From Olympians to college bound women, we believe that all dreams matter and that big expenses should never stand of the way of their big dreams.
Last year, through support from our generous donors, we were able to help make U.S. Women's Ski Jumper Abby Rinquist's dream of becoming an Olympian a reality. With our financial backing, Abby was named to Team USA and got to compete at the 2018 Winter Games - her life-long dream!

THE BACKSTORY ON 1DF
Scholarships come from many sources. Most are designed to pay for the standard basics, room/board/tuition. But how are all these “hidden” basics funded? Many American families simply can’t afford to cover them.
That’s where 1,000 Dreams Fund steps in. We fund micro grants to young women to help them fulfill their dreams of higher education. Some are tiny grants, when we award $250 to pay for a college preparatory exam class. Some are more substantial. A $2000 award to fund a college visit prior to enrollment helps to assure that proper student/college match.
Take Mia, for instance. An aspiring pediatrician, Mia dreamed of attending a school with an excellent medical program, but she had no means of visiting universities outside of her hometown.
With a grant from 1,000 Dreams Fund, Mia had the otherwise unattainable opportunity to visit distant colleges, allowing her the same in-depth experience that more financially fortunate high schoolers enjoy before selecting a university. “You can like a college from what you see online, but actually being there, and seeing what goes on, helps you find the best place to pursue your dream,” she told us.
