BENEFITING: NEW YORK FIREFIGHTERS BURN CENTER FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: NEW YORK FIREFIGHTERS BURN CENTER FOUNDATION
This year, I'm running the NYC marathon to benefit the NYFFBCF; not only will I be accomplishing a personal goal of mine, but I also have the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for my chosen charity. The New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation is a 501(c) (3) public charity, non-profit organization our firefighters founded in 1975, dedicated to the advancement of burn care, research, prevention, education, and the proper treatment of burns. I live my life in a way to benefit others and believe one person truly can make a difference. I will be documenting my progress from now until race day (123 days, but who's counting?!) and will wake each day with pride and direction to inspire, serve, and complete my goal. My plan is to be as accessible and personable as possible during the next few months--please, feel free to email me with any thoughts, questions, tips, etc... by supporting my charity and I, this is just as much your marathon as it is mine!
Thank you for your support and, please, check out the following emails that started this incredible journey!
...Members of the fire service and affiliated programs will be given priority in our selection of ‘official’ runners. We trust, that even if not selected, you will join our team, solicit contributions and run in a Burn Center Foundation shirt that we will provide. Selections will be made on or before July 1st, 2016.
Again, thank you for your interest and we welcome your participation. If you wish to be considered for selection as one of our NYRRC-NYFFBCF charity partnership runners, please contact me via e-mail as soon as possible.

New York Fire Fighters Burn Center Foundation
I'm definitely interested in running on behalf of NYFFBCF. I joined the fire service in December 2001 and have been dedicated to the fire industry ever since. I started running last year as part of my treatment plan for PTSD from a fatal fire. I completed the full Hartford (CT) October 2015 and was determined to run my next one for charity. Currently, I am a firefighter/EMT in the state of Connecticut. I serve on the local rescue dive and HAZMAT response teams. I promote mental and physical health in the fire service and write a blog given my personal experience with PTSD. My greatest accomplishment as of late is my participation and chair of the steering committee for fellow first responders and the obstacles we face (PTSD, compassion fatigue, etc...). I'm here to make a difference and would be graciously honored to run for your charity team--it would honestly be a dream come true!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions or information. My cell number is 860-***-****. Thank you so much for your consideration!
