BENEFITING: New Yorkers for Children Inc.
ORGANIZER: New Yorkers for Children Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 01, 2015
I have spent three months training for the New York Marathon, as part of the New Yorkers for Children team. I have run 400 miles in training, given up smoking, and lost 15 lbs. I will race on Sunday, and hope to complete 26 miles in around 4 gruelling hours.
Please will you sponsor me for this? Every $20 or $50 will help.
NYFC is my favourite charity: it provides a vital service to kids who need it, and who benefit greatly. I have a personal relationship with the charity, having mentored several of the kids over the last ten years, including Maurice, who has become a lifelong friend to me. Maurice is now studying at NYU's Shanghai campus, and working as an investment banking intern for my company, BDA Partners.
There are over 11,000 children in foster care in New York City. They face unique and complex challenges in their efforts to become successful, self-sufficient adults. New Yorkers For Children (NYFC) aims to provide youth with the support, guidance, and opportunities that every child deserves.
