The Camp Fire in Butte County has completely destroyed the town of Paradise. More than 6,500 homes and structures have burned to the ground, there have been 88 fatalities, and people are still missing. With the recent rains, a wide area is experiencing floods, mudslides, and flowing debris. As outgoing Governor Jerry Brown comments: "This is the new abnormal...". As our state struggles to make sense of these tragic events, you should know that Red Cross disaster mental health workers are always needed - as are donations!
