This cause is very close to my heart; my nephew, my twin sister's son, is autistic so I witness the struggle his family must endure first hand. Hopefully; we can help change the future for all who struggle with Autism. I'm going to test my limits by climbing, Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa in December 2015, Everest up to Camp 3 via the Khumbu Icefall in Nepal on March 2016, Cerro Aconcagua in Argentina in July 2016 and write a blog about it. I will do my small part to help educate as many folks about an epidemic that affects 1 in 88 kids. I ask you to also show your support for Autism. Many families can't afford therapy needed for their child or family member. There are two parts to this, first I need your help in getting there and second I ask you to donate $1.00 for every foot climbed. I will keep you updated as I go and I will share with you every step taken. The money raised will be used to help families with an autistic child pay for therapy. A blog will be made and a picture and a brief background will be shared of each child receiving therapy with your donations. Getting There: Mt. Kilimanjaro climb costs U$4,500.00 just for land costs. Travel expenses are around U$4000 including airfare, food, permits and lodging when not on the mountain. I would use Alpine Ascents as my guide Everest Khumbu Icefall climbs to Camp 2 or Landcost: $12,000. Travel expenses are around U$4500.00. I would use International Mountain Guides Aconcagua Landcosts U$4,600. Travel expenses are around U$3,500. I would use Alpine Ascents I will share with you details on costs and expenses during these expeditions so you know where your donations are going and for what. I appreciate your time and I thank you in advance for your help. Light it up Blue!!! - Autism Awareness
