BENEFITING: National Kidney Foundation, Inc.
EVENT: San Francisco Marathon 2014
Hello Friends, Family and Colleagues,
As you probably know (and colleagues definitely know), I work at the National Kidney Foundation. I have worked here for two and a half years now (wow!). I am proud to work for an organization that focuses on awareness, prevention, and treatment of a public health problem -- kidney disease. I recently worked at one of our education outreach events in which we assessed blood pressure and BMI of at-risk individuals. They had the opportunity to speak with a dietitian and nurse for quick, but individualized, consultations. I am so happy to help empower individuals on their health. We hope that when more people know the risk factors of kidney disease, fewer people will end up having it. I am very excited to help manage our first-ever The SF Marathon NKF team, Team Kidney. Please support me and Team Kidney by donating even just $10. Let me know if you have questions!
The National Kidney Foundation is the leading organization in the U.S. dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, millions of patients and their families, and tens of millions of Americans at risk. 26 million Americans have kidney disease and nine-tenths of them do not know it; 1 in 3 are at risk for developing it. Help NKF sound the alarm: with early detection, kidney disease can be identified and its progression slowed or halted.
