LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL INC via Crowdrise
March 23, 2012
The arrival of April can only mean two things in Boston; baseball season and the Boson Marathon. This year I have volunteered to run the Boston Marathon with a charity number representing the Newton Central Little League (NCLL).
As a former of player in the NCLL, I was more than willing to accept the challenge to run the marathon representing the NCLL. Even though my little league career ended tragically losing to those dreaded A’s in the league championship, I still believe little league fosters a nurturing environment for the youth to learn how to be part of a team and stay active.
If you choose to support my cause your donation will be going directly into the community. Newton Central Little League has over 300 players this year, ranging from T-ball to the Majors. The league has the use of seven city fields which it maintains, and improves as resources allow. The donations will help the league replace equipment, in order to enhance both the safety and baseball experiences of the boys and girls who play in the league. The league is dependent on contributions from its supporters, and this fundraising in order to keep the league affordable to all families in the district.
This year will be my second running of the Boston Marathon. I will be extremely grateful for whatever donation. It will mean a lot to me and to the kids of the Newton Central Little League. I am really hoping to hit it out of the park (pardon the pun) come marathon Monday, but I can’t do it without your support! Thank you in advance for your time and assistance as I take on this challenge for a good cause in the community.
