I decided that I have a goal of getting 10 new members and since many people become a member at $35/year the $350 number makes sense. It is less about the money though and more about the number of members joining

I have worked at the Peace & Justice Center for about 5 years in several capacities. We work to address systems of oppression through education, action, and advocacy. One of the things we have been doing recently (that I am super excited about) are racial justice workshops throughout the state designed to inspire individuals and communities to actively participate in undoing racism in an ongoing way. Because we are in Vermont, these workshops have a focus on understanding how whiteness, white cultural and white fragility fits into doing racial justice work. These programs are full each time we offer them and include with folks from many different backgrounds who are able to use the information and work from the workshop in different ways within their community and self.
This work and the other programming we do can only keep growing if the Peace & Justice Center (PJC) continues to build our membership base. If you have questions or want to know more about the PJC call me (863-2345 x6) or e-mail me (firstname.lastname@example.org). Give what you can, it all adds up and ends up being really meaningful to the work.
