The Nashville Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group will host its inaugural Pulmonary Hypertension PHun Walk at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Pinkerton Park in Franklin, TN.
Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is a life-threatening illness that causes high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries. The vessels between the heart and the lungs become constricted and the right side of the heart tends fail because it has to work harder to pump the blood through. PH can cause death from heart failure. It is often misdiagnosed as asthma or COPD. It affects men, women and children. There is NO cure.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. PHA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers hope, support and educational programs for patients and caregivers affected by pulmonary hypertension. The Pulmonary hypertension Association has received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator for 13 consecutive years.
