It is with tremendous grief and sadness that we are mourning the loss of one of our original members of the National Foundation of Cancer Research Board of Advisors, Nancy Flood Cole. Nancy was beloved by our NFCR family and displayed a grace, elegance, and Southern charm that made her a true friend to all.
Nancy truly believed in the importance of cancer research and was an active leader and fundraiser with Daffodils & Diamonds — an elegant luncheon, auction and fashion show which brings together women from all around the Washington, DC area to support NFCR’s breast, ovarian and lung cancer research programs. This annual event has supported NFCR for the past 12 years and has donated over $1 million to NFCR in support of game-changing scientific discoveries.
Nancy Flood Cole passed peacefully on September 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving daughter, Caroline, extended family and close friends. We will truly miss our Southern Star and promise to uphold her legacy and continue the fight against cancer until we find a cure.
