Nadia's Hope Foundation is a Calgary based charity that raises awareness on domestic violence through education and public speaking. This organization was started in April of 2019, about a year after I lost my sister Nadia to domestic violence in Calgary in March 2018. We keep her memory alive by sharing her story and speaking about what happened to her.
We have partnered with the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter with a few campaigns, and recently announced public presentations we are going to be hosting in Calgary.
We are honoured to have been one of the recipients of the With Her Gala in November 2019, and the Spring Glam Show 2020 that was hosted by the Aspen Beauty Boutique and sponsored by Kate Hewko who displayed her clothing line, as well as many make-up brands.
Our main project currently is hosting presentations in high schools in partnership with Police Officers to speak on healthy relationships and signs of domestic violence. We were so thankful to have partnered with the Airdrie RCMP who co-hosted these presentations in 5 high schools in November 2019, grades 10-12, and had amazing feedback, which we will be returning in the upcoming years. We are in the process of getting approval from the Calgary Board of Education to start presenting in the high schools in Calgary.
Stay tuned for more updates and other upcoming events. Thank you so much for your support in advance.
