I'm helping a good friend, Cynthia and her daughter, Kathleen raise the $2300 each plus airfare and hotel. All I'm asking is for a $1 donation. Donate more if you like. It would be very appreciated and going through a great cause. Their link is at the end of this story. You can donate their but I prefer that you donate here. I want it to be a surprise. Thank you all in advance!!!!! Here's her story: My Breast Cancer 3-Day story of Thanks: In June 2005 I was asked to join a friend of mine to walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day in Atlanta. Walking 60 miles was a daunting thought but raising the $2300 was even more so; and so I said No. July 9, 2006, I lost a wonderful Co-worker to Breast Cancer. I watched her fight the disease with dignity and grace. When asked again, shortly after Ola’s death, to walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day Atlanta I said Yes. How could I not try and do something, to make a difference for others and their loved ones; and so my journey began. With the help of our Fearless Team Captain, Jay Bird, (and my Husband Kevin) we have raised the $2300 (and sometimes more) for each of our team members year after year. Team Health, Long Life, Happiness and Love. Could I have imaged 10 years ago I would still be participating in the Breast Cancer 3-Day, No I could not; but I am glad that I have been Blessed to do so. I have to admit that some years were more challenging (mentally, physically and financially) than others but I never regret any of them. I believe I am a better, stronger person having experience the Breast Cancer 3-Day. Besides, I have had the opportunities to walk in some of our beautiful cities, of course Atlanta, but then there was Cleveland, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and San Diego. It is truly a Blessing, honor and a privilege to walk for so many of our friends, loved ones and co-workers while remembering all those we have lost. But I must say, that I would not have made any of them if it wasn’t for all of your words/letters of encouragement, prayers and financial support. I look forward to walking the 2016 Breast Cancer 3-Day in San Diego again, November 18 – 20th, this time with my oldest daughter Kathleen (having turn 16 is now eligible to walk with me). We look forward to training walks, fundraising and the 3-Day itself. We will need all your prayers, encouragement and financial support to get us through. Together we ARE making a difference. We are also interested in having others join us, the more the merrier, so join our team Health Long Life Happiness & Love.
