Let’s Move Salad Bars to MIDWEST Schools: Minnesota
H. Brooks and Company and C.H. Robinson have partnered together with the United Fresh Foundation to raise funds to assist Minnesota schools in gaining access to salad bars in their schools. We are proud to support the campaign and hope that you will join us in making sure Minnesota children throughout the state have access to healthy foods, with a mission to end childhood obesity. We have been strong supporters of the Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools program as it has helped schools and children throughout the country. Please join us in raising funds to support salad bars for Minnesota schools.
The goal of Let's Move Salad Bars to MIDWEST Schools is to increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption by donating salad bars to schools in IL, IN, MI, MN, OH and WI.
Let’s Move Salad Bars to MIDWEST Schools is a special campaign of the United Fresh Foundation, a founding partner of the national Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools initiative, which supports First Lady Michelle Obama’s broader Let’s Move! initiative to end childhood obesity in a generation. To date, salad bars have been donated to more than 3,000 schools nationwide.
School salad bars are an effective strategy to increase students’ fruit and vegetable consumption and help them develop healthier eating habits. Salad bars are also an easy way for schools to meet the new nutrition standards for school lunch, which double the amount of fruits and vegetable served and emphasize a colorful variety. Over the last 3 years, salad bars have been donated to over 400 Midwest schools, benefitting more than 150,000 students.
Let's Move Salad Bars to MIDWEST Schools continues the United Fresh Foundation’s tradition of benefitting children and schools in the region of the country hosting their annual produce industry convention, which will be in Chicago in 2014-2016.
