On June 1, 2011, the Harvest Compassion Center, a local food and clothing bank, opened its’ doors to serve families in the Phoenix Metropolitan Arizona, who is fully funded and operated by Mitchell Swaback Charities, Inc. Operated with a staff of volunteers, the HCC is meeting the needs of hurting individuals and their families. The economy and lack of work has brought many people into the center that can no longer provide the basic essentials for their families. The HCC strives to be more than just a local food bank.
For starters, it’s set up like a store where guests are able to shop and choose their desired food, hygiene and baby items. Likewise each guest is encouraged to pick out clothing items including undergarments, shoes, socks and more. After visiting the HCC each guest is encouraged and referred to other state and local resources to further serve the needs of their family. We also seek to show each guest the love of the Lord as they walk into the HCC, by offering them free Bibles and prayer, we are filling their spiritual needs as well.
Mitchell Swaback Charities, Inc. was started 12 years ago, after Mitchell went home to be with the Lord at the age of 23. He died in a tragic drowning accident, and was truly a light that is missed daily! MSC exists not only to carry on Mitchell's legacy of serving others, but to truly make an impact with families daily. A simple conversation, hug and smile can be the difference for our guests. We thank you for partnering with us in our mission is truly making a difference!
