Miracle League of Massachusetts 5K and Walk
EVENT DATE: Jun 12, 2016
The Miracle League of Massachusetts
The Miracle League of Massachusetts (MLM) was founded in 2008 to provide a safe, fun and accessible environment where individuals with cognitive, behavioral and/or physical challenges can play baseball at no cost to their families. In 2012, we built the Joseph A. Lalli Miracle Field in partnership with the town of Acton to provide a safe environment for these incredible athletes.
NARA Sports Pavilion @ Miracle Field
MLM is now partnering with the Town of Acton to build the NARA Sports Pavilion next to the Miracle Field. In addition to a snack bar, office space, and traditional men’s and women’s restroom facilities, Acton has reserved space in the structure for a fully accessible family restroom. Having this facility a few hundred feet from the Miracle Field will ensure that special days playing baseball aren’t cut short because of insufficient bathroom facilities. No more struggles carrying an wheelchair-bound child in & out of the “handicapped” port-a-potty. No more embarrassing diaper changes in the back of the minivan. Our athletes will finally be given the dignity they deserve both on & off the field.
Your Support is Critical!
Despite the community-wide support for the project, additional funds are needed to complete construction. The Miracle League of MA is raising funds for the construction in order to ensure the inclusion of a fully accessible family restroom.
Donate Today and We May Receive an Extra $0.50 for Every Dollar You Give!
If we raise $100,000 in cash donations by December 31, 2016, the Steinberg-Lalli Charitable Foundation has generously agreed to give us a grant of $50,000! All proceeds from this event will go toward this grant.
