2017 Miners Creek Flyathlon
EVENT DATE: Jun 16, 2017
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Jun 14, 2017
The Miners Creek Flyathlon is a unique race event that integrates three of the West's greatest activities; trail running, fly-fishing, and craft beer. The premise is simple...
run. fish. beer.
New for 2017, we are holding the Miners Creek Flyathlon near Creede, Colorado in the headwaters of the Rio Grande. This course is 7.5 miles with 1,200 feet of elevation gain. Winding through and across the Miners Creek canyon, flyathletes will have opportunities to catch brown, brook and cutthroat trout.
This event is also our debut for the Conservation Partnership Program, where Running Rivers partners with local conservation organizations to help raise money for their efforts, in addition to raising funds for a Flyathlon-specific project. To learn more about our conservation partners and details about the Runoff Runoff fundraiser weekend, please visit www.runoffrunoff.com.
This is also the first year that we will be raising money through our new nonprofit, Running Rivers. Since 2014, the Middle Creek Flyathlon has raised more than $50,000 for native trout projects through our conservation partners, Colorado Trout Unlimited and the Western Native Trout Initiative. http://runningrivers.org/projects/
Now is a critical time to invest in the preservation of our public lands and waters. Because Running Rivers is a recognized 501c3 organization, your donations are tax deductible.
