The Story

Miles 4 Malaria is a 5K fun run that raises money for malaria relief. The second annual Miles 4 Malaria event will take place on June 13th, 2015 at the Minto-Brown Island State Park in Salem, Oregon.

Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease, but it still kills a child every minute. It's a disease of poverty, affecting mostly poor people and keeping them poor. The majority of people who die from malaria are pregnant women and kids under age 5 in sub-Saharan Africa.

No child should live in fear of a mosquito bite. That's why we're raising money for Imagine No Malaria. This extraordinary effort of the United Methodist Church is saving lives daily. $5 can pay for a lifesaving course of medication. $10 is enough to buy a bed net that protects an entire family. $100 covers the expenses of an anti-malaria campaign in a school. Imagine what $1000 could do!

We hope that you'll join us in fundraising for this important cause. Together, we can imagine a world with no malaria… and then make that dream a reality!
