Micro farm enterprise in Jamaica

I am an American who spends much of my time in Jamaica. I take the time to mentor some of the poorest Jamaicans who aspire to improve their family's lives through entrepreneurship. Currently I am assisting a family (matriarch Rose, daughter Maria with kids Orjay and Triseanna) who raise chickens at their rural homestead. One big problem they have is their regular buyer for the chickens may or may not want delivery when the appropriate time for slaughter comes. Recently they lost to spoilage 100 birds because the borrowed freezer they had arranged for at a distant location did not work. The time it took to transport them there also contributed. A huge loss for them. I have planned with them two solutions for this:
1. Purchase a new freezer to use onsite to store excess inventory. This will give them much greater flexibility for distribution.
2. Purchase cooking equipment (charcoal pan grill, accessories, supplies) to set up a roadside chicken stand for take-away. This would enable a value added product to be sold at a higher price.

All money raised will be strictly for purchasing this equipment.
