BENEFITING: JUNIOR LEAGUE OF PHOENIX INC
EVENT DATE: Oct 02, 2017
As you may know, when I moved to Phoenix last year I pretty much immediately transferred to the Junior League of Phoenix. JLKCMO had a huge impact on me, and I wanted to make sure I could continue helping my new community here in Arizona. ONE in FIVE Arizonans are living in poverty, and 28.2% of children continuously face hunger. Their parents can't afford food, let alone new clothes for job interviews or to even go to work. I feel like I stare into my closet on a daily basis and think, "I have nothing to wear!" but in reality, I am so fortunate and so blessed. The Little Black Dress Initiative is striving to bring light to the poverty situation in Arizona by having its members wear the same black dress for 5 days. Think about how you feel when you have to wear the same shirt for 2 days, and then think about if that was your ONLY option. If you only had 1 shirt to wear for work every day, or only 1 dress. I know I take for granted how easily accessible new clothing is for me and that I have access to a washer and dryer at all times.
JLP's overall goal is to raise $10,000, and I'd like to raise $500 of that. I'd love if you would support me in this cause and donate any amount you are able.
Thank you for your support!
