Join 1,500 walkers in front of crowds of more than 30,000 at the ASU Homecoming Parade to show your support for acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome. This event is open to all – parents, caregivers, friends, family members and individuals with Down syndrome. Strollers, wheelchairs and wagons are welcome!

WHY: One in every 691 babies in the United States is born with Down syndrome. It is one of the most commonly occurring genetic chromosomal conditions. Funds raised by the SUDS Walk will support DSNetwork’s programs and mission to provide comprehensive education, support and advocacy for individuals and families impacted by Down syndrome, including:
• New Parent Information and Resources
• Early Intervention Education Workshops
• Parents and Schools in Partnership
• Research Resource Information
• Young Adult Social Group
• Medical Outreach
• Community Outreach & Advocacy
• Family Events and Celebrations

ACTIVITIES: All REGISTERED walkers will enjoy face painting, games and balloons, as well as a delicious lunch courtesy of Chili’s Bar & Grill. Don’t miss the debut of the 2015 DSNetwork calendar – only $10 – featuring the beautiful faces of our DSNetwork friends with Down syndrome.

PRIZES: Teams raise awareness of Down syndrome, compete for fantastic prizes and help raise funds to support DSNetwork’s educational programs. The top SUDS fundraiser will lead the 2015 ASU Homecoming Parade and will be featured in DSNetwork’s 2016 calendar!

Fundraising Tip #1 Did you know that many local restaurants will help you fund raise for your SUDS team? Places like Krispy Kreme, Dutch Bros. Coffee, local yogurt shops, and Sweet Tomatoes can help you raise money! Designate a night where a portion of the proceeds go to your SUDS team. It works!!

Fundraising Tip #2! If you have a child that is in school, invite his or her classmates to walk on your Team! If they cannot participate in our awesome day of fun, perhaps they will be willing to donate. Not only does it encourage participation and fundraising, but it also promotes AWARENESS!

Fundraising Tip #3! Every Penny Counts! Place a collection jar at your local/family gas station, grocery store, Subway, yogurt place, hairdresser, barber or work cubicle! The loose change adds up fast and gets you closer to your fundraising goal!

Fundraising Tip #4! Put out a collections jar at work or just encourage co-workers to donate to your SUDS Team Page! Place a bowl of candy with a "Donations" sign next to it. If your company matches donations, advise your co-workers!

Fundraising Tip #5! Host a lemonade stand! Seriously, so easy. Serve Country Time Lemonade, get a grocery store to donate cookies, invite your friends and neighborhood, play music and have a good time!

Fundraising Tip #6! Ask your employer if you can have a "Dress Casual Day for a Cause". If your office has business professional or business casual dress, co-workers can make a donation in exchange casual wear! $5.00 to wear jeans? I am in!

Fundraising Tip #7! Have a big ticket item or gift card donated and have a silent auction or raffle on your Facebook page! With the holidays around the corner, this is a HUGE deal!
