BENEFITING: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association
THE STORY:
By now you've heard about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Here at the University of Miami, we're changing the rules a little bit to raise the most money for the ALS Association. Want to toss a bucket of ice cold water on your favorite (or least favorite) professor on the first day of the 2014-15 school year? Here's what you need to do:
1. Make a donation for any dollar amount to the ALSA using this CrowdRise fundraiser.
2. In the comments section of your donation, specify which professor (Dees, Jessop, Martin, Mullane or Whisnant) that you would like to dunk.
3. The person who donates the most money for each respective professor will have the opportunity to dunk that professor at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 25 in front of the "U" at the University of Miami Coral Gables campus. In the event that multiple donors make the highest donation for any respective professor, a drawing will be held amongst those with the highest donation amounts to determine who will dunk the professor. Not in Miami? No problem--if you are the highest bidder, we will happily find someone to dunk us on your behalf or you may nominate someone else!
4. Professors will have buckets of ice cold water on hand to be used for dunking. However, winners are welcome to bring a bucket of their choosing to use instead. Buckets may only be filled with ice and water, however.
Let's show the world that the University of Miami and the Sports Administration program are committed to ending ALS!
