Mountain Home Montana's mission is so simple, yet so necessary to assist our youngest and most vulnerable families in our community: provide a safe, loving home where young mothers discover their strengths and their children experience the joys of childhood. Our young mothers are often homeless, but some are escaping domestic violence, living in unsuitable environments, have a disability or simply need help learning how to live and parent on their own.
Here at Mountain Home Montana, young mothers adjust to parenthood and prepare for successful independent living in a supported environment in our 6-bedroom home or one of our 5-apartments. We are committed to helping young mothers ages 16-24 access basic needs (food, clothing, shelter and safety), learn life skills, complete education, develop parenting skills, and improve health outcomes for mother and child.
Our transitional living programs help our young mothers learn and practice the skills they need to live on their own such as cooking, cleaning, healthy decision making, and money management. Our program teaches independent living and parenting skills in a safe, nurturing environment.
