HELP KEEP ME RUNNING! ~~ I’m currently training for my first half marathon in three years (yikes!) and hope you can help motivate me while helping me raise money for Merci’s Refuge, a women’s residential facility in Champaign where I am privileged to work. I’d like to turn the next ten weeks (plus race week!) into a run-a-thon!
I am looking for 11 friends (or more—we can double up!) to each choose a week from below and commit to donating to my fundraising $1 per mile that I run that week (or $5 or $10 per mile, if you really want, I guess!). I ONLY want you to donate for the miles that I actually finish, though! I’m hoping that will give me extra motivation on the days I am trying to come up with an excuse to skip a run or cut one short!
I’d also like these friends to share with me their prayer requests that week so I can lift those up for them while on my runs (actually, I’d love any friends to do that—even if you cannot donate). It may not look like it when you see me; but, I promise, I pray a LOT while running!
Let me know which week you want to support my training and I’ll let you know at the end of that week how many of the miles I actually ran. Hopefully, with your help and motivation, I’ll finish them all! I also appreciate your prayers that I stay illness and injury free and—no matter what—I am able to use this time in my life to glorify God and thank Him for all He has done for me!
