BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
EVENT DATE: Jan 24, 2015
Approximately every 3 minutes one person in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer. An estimated 1,129,813 people in the US are living with, or are in remission from, leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Approximately every 10 minutes, someone in the US dies from a blood cancer. This statistic represents nearly 152 people each day or more than six people every hour.
When I was 3 years old, my father, Major Edward Joseph Moss Jr., passed away after his battle with Leukemia. My Mother and with the help of family and friends raised me and my triplet brother and sisters on their own. There is a cure to be sought for Leukemia & Lymphoma and I am setting a goal of running the Jazz Half Marathon in New Orleans on November 1st, 2014 in honor of my father. When I have completed this task, I will look to approach my next task of running a marathon in early 2015. I have never been a runner, as a matter of fact I despised it. With this task I look to support the family and friends of those that have been affected by this sickness. Join me in the battle against blood cancer by supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
