Medical Mission Trip to Pinares, Honduras
Organized by: Lauryl Andrus
EVENT DATE Jun 20, 2016
This summer, I have the amazing opportunity to join a medical mission team from Virginia Commonwealth University to Pinares, Honduras. I will be traveling with the HOMBRE (Honduras Outreach Medical Brigada Relief Effort) team, composed of physical therapy, medical, and pharmacy students as well as physicians and other medical personnel. As part of this medical mission trip, we will be working to continue to help establish a sustainable medical clinic and provide these services throughout the time we are there.
Last year, HOMBRE was able to provide free medical care and health education to almost 8,000 patients in the poorest regions of Honduras. The mission includes not only providing medical care, but also providing medical supplies including sterile bandages, diagnostic equipment and medications.
With your help, my goal is to raise $2,000 to bring my evolving physical therapy skills, and medical supplies to the people of rural Honduras! Thank you so much for your generosity and support to help make this trip one for the books!
