Without it I don&rsquo;t know if I would be here today.&rdquo; &ndash; LaTanya Williams, Sister and Sister Participant</span></h2> <p>LaTanya is one of more than 60 breast cancer survivors who are thriving because the Sister and Sister Program. &nbsp;African American women, Hispanic women, and those are uninsured or underinsured are often more frequently diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer when treatment options are limited, costly and prognosis is poor.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Sister and Sister program promotes breast cancer awareness and provides free screenings in an effort to combat this trend and save lives in the process.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Sister and Sister program is led by the the McLaren Oakland Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization , which was formed in 2004 to ensure that everyone regardless of age, race, sex or financial status has access to state-of-the-art health care services. The McLaren Oakland Foundation proudly supports the McLaren Oakland health system, which has provided almost $20 million in uncompensated medical care for those in need.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
