The McLaren Oakland Foundation strives to improve the health and well-being of underserved individuals in Oakland County by providing access to state of-the-art health care services regardless of age, race and financial status. As part of the Give Detroit Challenge, we are raising funds specifically for our mobile clinic. It only takes one to see the difference you can make in the lives of many by supporting our mobile clinic – the first of its kind in Oakland County. While we live in a county ranked 12th highest in the nation for per capita income, access to health care is still a challenge.
Pontiac: Close to 20% of Pontiac households do not have access to a vehicle.
Waterford: Over 10% of Waterford residents do not have health insurance.
Oxford: Almost 10% of Oxford children lived in poverty over the last 12 months.
Clarkston: Over half of the students at North Sashabaw Elementary are economically disadvantaged.
Oakland County: Seniors are expected to double in Oakland County by 2030 with 80% of seniors living with a chronic condition and half living with two or more. One of their biggest barriers to health care access is transportation. These statistics demonstrate why we need your support in helping us to expand health care access in our community. Please join us in this initiative by donating to our mobile clinic. This mobile clinic will help reduce barriers to health care access, allowing McLaren Oakland to provide health care services in community locations such as schools, grocery stores and community centers.
Please donate and help us in providing this vital link between our hospital and your community. Thanks in advance for your support.
P.S. The mobile clinic that appears in the video is similar to the one we will be funding.
