Young onset Alzheimer's took the life of my wife Margie Steele 3 years ago, at age 58. Now her younger sister Nancy Hughes is living with the disease, living day to day with the assitance of her husband Cliff Hughes - with incredible grace and dignity.
Young Onset Alzheimer's is an insidious disease that slowly unravels the mind and the self. It shakes families to the core and forces them to adapt in ways they never imagined.
So on the weekend of June 10th a crowd of us will show up and climb to show Nancy and Cliff and all the all other families being torn part by Alzheimer's that we support them and we'll keep climbing until a world without Alzheimer's is a reality.
