In addition to everything else he accomplished in his life, my dad -- Donald M. "DJ" Jameson, Jr. -- was a runner. He cheered my sister Hayley and I on when we ran high school cross-country and track, and I had the pleasure of running several Great Races with him. In 1986, he was proud to finish the Pittsburgh Marathon, his one and only marathon (the picture on the left was taken during the marathon). On Christmas Day 2014, after a long and difficult seven-year fight, the terrible disease of dementia took his life. Hayley and I started Clear Thoughts Foundation ("CTF"), www.clearthoughtsfoundation.org, after the doctors told us that there were no drugs available to treat the type of dementia (frontal temporal dementia) that our Dad was suffering from. Simply stated, this is not acceptable. CTF is singularly focused on raising money to discover drugs that will treat (and ultimately cure) dementia. I am just a little bit older than my Dad was when he ran in the Pittsburgh Marathon, and this is the best way for me to honor his memory. Please help CTF raise money to fund the discovery of drugs to treat dementia by donating to this fundraiser.
