THE STORY:
Ten bucks says Mary Addison can make it all the way around the track at least once! Throw in your 10 bucks as extra incentive. She is helping Healing Farms raise money for scholarships so more young adults like her can enjoy continuing ed after high school - exploring community, participating in vocational training, making new friends, sharing their gifts! Last year you helped us exceed our team goal of $2,000. This year, we are shooting for $2,500 and an event goal of $30,000. April 30 we will cheer Mary Addison around the track at the Davy Jones Center in North Charleston. Come cheer with us or send in your encouragement by clicking the DONATE button. Go Team Tutterow!
What: The 2nd Annual Walk & Roll for Healing Farms will be held on April 30th, 2016 at Danny Jones Recreation Complex - 1455 Monitor St. North Charleston, SC 29405. How you participate is up to you -- walk, push a stroller, pull a wagon, ride a wheelchair, or join us as a virtual walker. The whole idea is to have fun for a great cause! There will be food, music, prizes, and even a Fun Zone for kids of all ages!
Who: This event is open to anyone and everyone, no fitness level required. Young and old- there is something fun for everyone. Old friends and new, we hope to see you.
Why: Every year thousands of students with disabilities are aging out of high school with few options for employment or contribution. The general consensus is that individuals with disabilities are unable to contribute. We don’t believe that.
The Challenge: You can be a difference maker. Raise $150 and receive a Walk & Roll T-shirt. Top teams and individuals will receive prizes.
The money raised from the Walk and Roll will enable Healing Farms to continue in their work to create quality day programming for young adults with developmental disabilities as well as supports and services to the special needs community. Your support directly impacts families right here in our community.
