Housing the Homeless
Martha’s Village and Kitchen (MVK) provides housing for homeless children, women and men. Through the services MVK provides, we help our clients regain their lives by becoming self-sufficient and productive citizens. Over 90% of our clients exit to safe, permanent housing.
Food Services
Martha’s Village and Kitchen serves almost a quarter of a million meals annually to more than 6,200 impoverished children and adults in the community. These nutritious meals are based on FDA-published guidelines.
Emergency Services
Martha’s Village and Kitchen provides nutritional emergency food, essential baby supplies and clothing vouchers to our neighbors in need. We would not be able to provide these services if it was not for the generous support and donations from the community.
Case Management
Martha’s Village and Kitchen provides intensive case management services for our clients within our housing program. The goal is to ensure that our graduates are equipped with life skills that enable them to obtain income and stable housing. Case Management services are based on National Best Practices Standards.
Career and Education
Martha’s Village and Kitchen provides an array of services in our Career and Education Center including employment preparation, career development assistance, and on site presentations by numerous local collaborating partners to more than 500 residents annually. Courses in adult basic education, GED classes, English as a second language and computer skills are also provided.
Recovery Services
This program addresses substance addictions through individual counseling, education, process groups, and referrals to collaborative partners for in-patient treatment.
Child Care
Martha’s Village and Kitchen offers high quality childcare for infants are preschoolers ages zero to five years old with little or no cost to the impoverished parents. The well-appointed facility and its playground offer a stimulating, safe and structured environment. The child development staff also create exciting summer camp programs.
