BENEFITING: 2020 MOM
EVENT: March For Moms Maternal Mental Health Walk 2017
EVENT DATE: Mar 25, 2017
THE STORY:
Did you know that up to one in five moms suffer from a maternal mental health disorder (MMH) like postpartum depression? This makes MMH disorders the most common complication of pregnancy and childbirth. In fact these disorders are more common than breast cancer. Left untreated, they can leave a lasting impact on both mom and baby and negatively impact family stability.
Untreated depression and anxiety during pregnancy is a leading cause of preterm birth. Additionally, women who delivery preterm and/or have a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are at higher risk for MMH disorders. This is why 2020 Mom is partnering with March of Dimes (MOD) to raise awareness about MMH disorders at MOD walks.
Your contribution will go towards the wonderful work of these two valuable organizations, 2020 Mom and March of Dimes.
Thank you so much for caring for Mamas and their babies!
