BENEFITING: HAWAII ELITE TRACK TEAM
Running on Maui can be punishing and dangerous. Up against extreme heat and stifling humidity, runners often struggle with dehydration and hyperthermia, as well as a host issues stemming from imbalanced electrolytes. These events are often held in remote areas and since Maui has only one hospital, medical care is often delayed. Medical volunteers do our best, but still proper equipment and better supplies would make it better. We've created a list of Items which include equipment for monitoring vital signs, electrolytes, and heart rhythms, supplies to treat injuries and ailments and supplies to set up and run a mobile medical unit. With your help we can do this!
