BENEFITING: LEON COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY
EVENT DATE: Oct 22, 2017
Like many older companion animals, Maggie has had a rough year due to health issues. What differentiates Maggie from many senior dogs and cats is that Maggie has a loving family that provides for her every need and wouldn't consider abandoning her. In 2017, Leon County Humane Society made a point of going the distance for many senior animals whose tales may or may not have been known, but their common thread was that they had a need for a home and a person to love them and provide for them. From those who'd lived their entire lives to profit greedy owners through organized fight rings or back yard breeding, to those who once had a home and ended up in a shelter where their odds of adoption were slim, after having been accepted into the care of LCHS they were promised a commitment to be cherished for as many days as they have left to live. Money is tight for everyone, but for homeless senior animals who often come with a lengthy list of untreated medical conditions, the need has never been greater! The world needs more superheroes and we can all be superheroes for senior animals in need when we support Maggie's Mission through Walk & Wag: Humane Heroes!
