BENEFITING: AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION OF THE NORTHEAST
ORGANIZER: AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION OF THE NORTHEAST
EVENT DATE: Nov 01, 2015
Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,
My name is Bryce Kristall and I am 22 years old. First of all, thank you for taking the time to come to my fundraising page. I am a recent graduate of SUNY New Paltz and was a division III collegiate soccer player. For many of you who know me as an athlete, running is not my forté so running the NYC Marathon may seem crazy.
My motivation and inspiration for this is my mother Felice, who lost her year-long battle to lung cancer on April 19, 2014. I am sharing her story and celebrating her life by running this for her. This took a hard hit on myself, my family, friends, and anyone who met my mother as she was a sincerely loved member of the community. In the process of trying to deal with her loss I am now challenging myself to take advantage of the opportunities around me and step outside of my comfort zone because cliché as it is, life really is too short. The mental and physical aspects of running a marathon will allow me to experience 1/8th of what my mom went through on a daily basis.
So for a while now I have been thinking about what I can do for causes and efforts related to lung cancer research in honor of my mom. Running some type of event has been a thought and I have finally decided to commit to running the NYC Marathon as a tribute to her and to be a part of the fight to find a cure. Embodying my mom’s ferocious and determined spirit will help me through this challenge. I would appreciate any contribution to the American Lung Association or even just sharing this story. ALL proceeds are given to the American Lung Association of the Northeast. Thank you so much for your support!
