Match AltaSea - 100% of program donations to Los Angeles Maritime Institute go directly to programs.
Los Angeles Maritime Institute (LAMI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that uses hands-on experiences at sea to provide social, education and leadership development opportunities to middle and high school students in San Pedro, Wilmington, and the greater Los Angeles area.
LAMI operates the Irving Johnson and Exy Johnson, twin brigantines designated the “Official Tall Ships and Maritime Ambassadors of the City of Los Angeles” at their launch in 2002. These 110-foot wooden vessels are charged with giving tens of thousands of young people the opportunity to experience self-discovery, life changing adventure and education found only on a tall ship at sea.

- $500 will fund one bus, bringing 50 middle school students to the Reef Check Student Ocean Scientist program.
- $100 to LAMI pays for two middle schoolers, plus learning materials, to attend the Reef Check Student Ocean Scientist program.
