EVENT DATE: May 07, 2016
Walker will honor Benjamin W. Thorndike, Chair of the Walker Board of Directors for nearly a decade, with the 2016 Distinguished Community Leadership Award. A tireless advocate for the youth Walker cares for, Thorndike and his family have been devoted supporters for nearly 30 years. To recognize the accomplishment and in honor of his commitment to Walker, the Board of Directors will be naming the Walker School gymnasium: The Thorndike Family Gym.
Please join us in recognizing Ben with a tribute gift and we hope you will join us at the Lives in Bloom Gala on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel. To purchase tickets, visit: livesinbloom.org.
Founded in 1961, Walker’s programs provide innovative clinical treatment, therapeutic support and academic curriculum on two campuses in Needham and Watertown, through community-based clinical and youth development services, professional seminars and ongoing consultations, and Walker staff embedded in public schools. Each year Walker impacts more than 20,000 children, teens and families throughout Greater Boston, the North and South Shores, and Central Massachusetts. The core of our work centers on strengthening and engaging families to nurture hope, develop lifelong skills, and build their capacity to be successful in their community.
