Every year Lawrence High School raises funds to help us maintain the high quality of excellence that our students have come to expect from our program. Donations help us offer a quality music program for all students, regardless of their personal financial ability. Without this funding, students would not be able to participate in festivals, competitions and other performances.

Lawrence High School music department’s goal for 2017-2018 is to fund a festival competition trip for all students. The Music in The Parks festival provides a year-end assessment by an outside panel that reinforces music skills that LHS music students have been building on throughout their time in the department. The master adjudicators that build this panel have extensive experience in their fields and can provide perspective and feedback that is essential to the growth of a quality program.

Festival trips help students to refine their repertoire and provide an opportunity for musical growth. This type of adjudication provides critical feedback in a new environment with master clinicians. Moreover, festivals provide motivation and reward at the end of a year of hard work with improved skills that students will be able to use in their end-of- year performances.
