Lights at Morogoro Hospital, Tanzania
Organized by: Andre Catao
While at this rural hospital in Tanzania I observed a surgery on a 17-year-old patient who was having plates removed from his leg. About 30 minutes into the surgery, the power went out and the backup generators failed. In order for the surgery to continue, a friend and I had to hold up the flashlights on our cell phones to provide illumination. On my return to England, I conducted some research and found battery operated LED lights that would be an ideal fall-back option for that hospital. I am raising money to purchase and ship these lights.
This is a direct to organizer fundraiser.
