Last year, we came across villagers who were living in one of the largest garbage dumps outside of the large metro city of Karachi, Pakistan. In the center of the hills of smoky waste was crouched a primary school where children came to learn with a passion to escape this terrible future they felt they were doomed to.
Our goal became to help our partner organization Idara Al Khair to build a large school site, away from the fumes and pollution. We've got 9 classrooms nearly walk in ready at the entrance of the village where it is cleaner, clearer and in access to 10,000 villagers in surrounding areas.
We've got 9 classrooms walk in ready, though we have no supplies, desks or teachers. We've got lines of students waiting, hundreds of parents waiting curiously to see what will become of this.
We need 9 groups of people to come together to donate $1,200 to get each of these classrooms started. We need lots more people to help us ensure the success of these children for decades to come- forever perhaps.
The school will also be in need of water connection from near by villages: the cost of this will be $5600.
These children have dreams, will you help make them a reality?
