Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a rare and progressive genetic disorder. DMD affects 1 in 3500 boys and impacts children of all races and cultures. It is a muscle wasting disease that slowly steals bodily function and ultimately affects every muscle, including the heart. No child should ever have to face such a terrible disease. I met Vicky Singh through co-workers and was so inspired by her passion and dedication toward finding a cure for this devastating disease, which affects her son, Saij. What really impressed me about the organiation Team Saij--Simply the Best is that all funds raised go directly toward research. I have a research background and spent many years in the lab and I know what a major difference funding can make toward finding new medicines and learning more about diseases. The theme for Dash for Duchenne is Superheroes. As a major nerd and lover of all things comic book, Sci-Fi, and geeky, I'm excited to be involved with this event and to do my part to be a real-life superhero in the fight against DMD. Won't you join my cause and help fight against the injustice caused by this devastating disease?
