EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2017
THE STORY:
In the Great Rift Valley region of Kenya, there are thousands of orphaned children living without parents, sometimes completely alone, sometimes on the streets or othertimes being raised by teenage siblings who were thrust into the role of parenting due to tragic life circumstances. These orphaned chilren are at risk of becoming ill, being malnourished, and suffering from effects of extreme poverty. Most drop out of school and struggle to survive.
To spend time with these children is a moving experience - their eyes and hearts are still full of hope, despite the hardship they have already faced in their short lives.
Lee Sisters Foundation has kicked off 'Garden of Hope' - an inititaive to support and care for some of these children. We are working closely with our on-the-ground team to provide housing, food and education to these kids.
