We walked this amazing event last year in honor of our son, sweet little Gavin who was born with a rare facial Tessier Cleft, and it was only 1 month after his very successful surgery was completed by Dr. Meara at Children's Hospital. We met so many families and other cleft kids, it was inspirational and also comforting to see others that have gone through the same difficult journey. We all share in the same mantra that it is important to be respectful of people no matter how they look, everyone is the same on the inside, and everyone deserves a chance. It is amazing how kindness and understanding can make a difference in a person's life.
We hope to pass on this kindness to others too. We are raising money for the Foundation for Faces of Children which is an important resource to the many families who have children with craniofacial differences. We walked together as a family last year and this year we invite our friends to join us on this fun and beautiful day. Any donations to this cause are greatly appreciated!
Please join us outside for a fun filled afternoon of kid friendly activities, raffles and an opportunity to meet new friends and connect with old friends. The picnic, including lunch and family activities, begins immediately following the walk.
