-Folks who want to come hang out at the POTS Walk but don't plan to run/walk/roll.
-Folks who can't make it to the POTS Walk but want to walk virtually to raise funds for POTS research.
-Folks who want to donate towards POTS research without hosting a fundraiser of their own.
Team Dysautonomia is part of Dysautonomia International. We're excited to participate in the 2016 Boston POTS Walk remembering the extraordinary life of Christina Tournant and raising funds for Dysautonomia International's POTS Research Fund. 100% goes directly to POTS research!
In a few short years, Dysautonomia International has made major strides in POTS research, public awareness, physician education and patient support. We have been able to do this because of our amazing volunteers and donors - people just like you! Our primary goal is to find a cure for POTS, but another really important role that the POTS Walk and our organization serves is giving people hope. Patients who are currently homebound with POTS (about 250,000 Americans if the estimates are correct) need to know that there are people out there fighting for them. Please join us in the fight against POTS!
How to join us at the POTS Walk as a runner/walker/roller
Click on the big register button on the right side of this page. Tell Crowdrise you if you want to run or walk (rollers can pick either option, depending on how fast you're gonna roll). Then tell Crowdrise you want to join an existing team. Select Team Dysautonomia on the list, then continue with your registration. After you're all registered, you can customize your fundraising page to share your story - why is POTS research and awareness important to you? Then share the link to your personal fundraising page with your family and friends.
How to do a virtual walk or join us at the POTS Walk just to chill out in the shade with fellow POTS patients while sipping electrolyte beverages.
Click on the big register button on the right side of this page. Tell Crowdrise you want to host a fundraising page. Then tell Crowdrise you want to join an existing team. Select Team Dysautonomia on the list, then continue with your page set up. You can customize your fundraising page to share your story - why is POTS research and awareness important to you? Then share the link to your personal fundraising page with your family and friends.
If you feel weird asking people to donate, ask a friend to share the link on your behalf. But don't feel weird - you're raising money for research on a neglected medical condition that impacts 1 million Americans - totally awesome of you!
