Kyla's Medical Internship in India
Organized by: Kyla Little
My name is Kyla Little, I'm a junior at Dover Sherborn High School in Massachusetts. I need your help for a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to volunteer at 5 teaching hospitals in India and get the kind of unique experience that most people in this country would never have access to. My favorite subjects in school are easily math and science, and at 16 I know for sure I want to work with medicine. Ever since I was little, science has fascinated me. From doing science experiments at home with my dad to asking my doctors and pet's veterinarians every question possible, I have always found ways to learn all that I can about this broad subject. This summer I participated in the National Congress of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists where I was able to hear many incredible medical stories from the most well known doctors, scientists, and even patients, and I was even able to witness a live hip replacement surgery. After this, I heard about the Ultimate Medical Internship and after doing a lot of research on it I knew I had to go. That's where I need your help, I have agreed with my parents to pay the whole cost of the trip (apart from $1000 donated by my wonderful grandma-- thanks Nonie!). I have to pay three payments of $1700 to them, a lot of which goes to the incredible doctors who work and sometimes volunteer at these hospitals. I will be volunteering with a group of other kids in Ahmedabad Gujarat, India. I'm convinced this experience will solidify my determination to go into the medical industry and expose me to things I could never see here in the United States.
This is a direct to organizer fundraiser.
