For a month now, I have been training for RUGGED MANIAC, a 3-mile mud run in Brooklyn on Saturday, June 29th. I have never done anything of this sort before, and I am very excited to take on a fun challenge. I would also like to take advantage of making this event a FUNDRAISER for an organization that is very close to my heart not only as a poet but also as a Filipino-American.
I would like you to donate money to KUNDIMAN through crowd rise. Kundiman is a 10 year old organization that supports Asian American poets through workshops and publication. The American poetry scene has not been the same since the founding of Kundiman. The emerging poets from this incredible organization have produced an enormous volume of poetry unheard of from similar organizations with the same life span. Kundiman is changing the face of American letters, giving a voice to a new generation of Asian Americans in the U.S.
I have been on the board of KUNDIMAN for the past couple of years and this is my first effort to raise money for them. On its 11th year, it is even more important now for KUNDIMAN to continue with its mission.
I would like you, my friends, to consider helping me meet my goal and if possible, surpass it. Your donated amount will all go to KUNDIMAN. Thanks very much!
