BENEFITING: Kids Cancer Alliance Inc.
This fundraiser was created to raise money for Kids Cancer Alliance. This is an organization that started with a camp for children diagnosed with cancer and has grown to so much more. I started as a cabin counselor for Indian Summer Camp back in 2009 and have not been able to stay away since. The camp is a one-week oncology camp where kids (18 and under) have the opportunity to make lifelong friends, lasting memories, and just have fun. The camp itself is 35 years old, but the organization is still relatively new. Kids Cancer Alliance was created to expand camp outside of the one week and to provide more support to our campers and their families. KCA now provides funding for all kids for the week-long camp, scholarships for survivors to go to college, family and teen weekend retreats, quarterly events for the kids, a week-long sibling camp (the siblings need attention too), funeral/burial services, and much more. Each and every kid who has a desire to attend camp and the other events may do so free of charge thanks to donors like you. For the entire month of September, I will be raising money to support Kids Cancer Alliance in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Kids Cancer Alliance provides children with experiences and support they may not receive elsewhere, FREE to those children and their families. All money donated will go directly to Kids Cancer Alliance in order to fund the abovementioned programs. This is a camp and an organization that has meant the world to me since first arriving at camp over 7 years ago. Whether you are a camper currently battling cancer, a camper that is a survivor of cancer, a past camper/survivor turned counselor, or an outsider like me, there is a place for you at camp and an incredible bond formed between all attendees. Please help me support this incredible organization and donate today!
