*KICKS FOR CLOTS HAS BEEN RESCHEDULE FROM NOVEMBER 12TH TO NOVEMBER 5TH*
Every day, 274 people die of blood clots in America alone. That’s 274 deaths daily that can be prevented. Blood clots kill more people each than AIDS, Breast Cancer and motor vehicle accidents combined. Blood clots do not discriminate, regardless of age, race or gender we are all at risk. Knowing the signs, symptoms and risk factors saves lives and prevents lifelong pain and disability.
We are teaming up with the National Blood Clot Alliance, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, voluntary health organization dedicated to advancing the prevention, early diagnosis and successful treatment of life-threatening blood clots such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and clot-provoked stroke, to raise awareness and funds to assist them in their life saving mission.
On Saturday, November 5th we are hosting a Kicks for Clots Kickball tournament to benefit the National Blood Clot Alliance between 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Tuckaseegee Park (4237 Freedom Dr., Charlotte, NC 28208). Please use this page to register - you can create your own team or join an existing team! If you are unable to attend the event, but want to donate to one of our teams - click "DONATE"!
Blood Clots kill more people each year than AIDS, Breast Cancer and motor vehicle accidents combined.
An estimated 900,000 Americans are diagnosed with blood clots each year. 100,000 will die.
Blood Clots kill one person every 6 minutes
Although blood clots can be prevented, fewer than 1 in 4 people know the signs and symptoms, making awareness so important.
