Kenwood Academy: Culture and Service in Ghana 2017

THE STORY:
This is an effort to travel to Ghana,West Africa with a few brilliant/gifted youth (including my teenage son,Timotheus) from his high school & my alma mater, Kenwood Academy, Chgo, IL. We are planning to go to Ghana to help develop an Art/Skills Training Center, work on an Organic Community Garden, work with local primary children and visit Cape Coast Castle-old Slave Trading Forts to learn the history of the slave trade in the region. As a teacher, single mom & local Youth Pastor, I believe if more adolescents, especially from our city would see what our ancestors truly had to endure in order for many to be at the stature enjoyed today, most would no longer waste precious moments, resources, opportunities: gifts.
